Nous te rappelons que notre prochain "café virtuel" aura lieu le jeudi 6 février à 17h UTC (9h Pacific, 12h Eastern, 18h en France)avec comme invité Romain Lopez.
Romain (LinkedIn) est X 2013, a obtenu son doctorat à UC Berkeley en 2021, et a été chercheur postdoc à Stanford et Genentech. Il va diriger à partir de cette année le de New York University.
"My research interests lie at the intersection of statistics, computation and modeling. A significant part of my research is driven by building more statistically accurate and faster machine learning software for analyzing biological data, with a focus on transcriptomics. I am the lead contributor to single-cell Variational Inference (scVI), a set of tools for fully-probabilistic modeling of scRNA-seq data. Aside from that, I worked on counterfactual inference and offline policy learning methods in collaboration with technology companies."
Romain nous décrira ce qui l'a attiré aux États-Unis, nous parlera de son domaine, puis de la recherche fondamentale comme il la voit aux USA, et le lien avec l’entrepreneuriat.
